10,000 Apollo Lights Create a Main Visual Display at the Hainan Provincial Games Opening Ceremony

Enjoy Tech brought 10,000 Apollo lights to the opening ceremony of the Hainan Provincial Games, transforming the audience seating into a vast visual display. Working together with floor projection, stage lighting and lasers, the lights extended the performance beyond the stage to create a layered, three-dimensional visual experience.

From Audience Lighting to a Main Visual Screen

The ceremony marked a new milestone for Enjoy Tech in China. For the first time at a major event in the country, our lights served as a main visual screen, carrying imagery that became an integral part of the performance. The audience seating became an extension of the stage, bringing the show's visual storytelling into the stands.

Greater Flexibility with Live Input

EnjoyGalaxy’s Live Input accepts real-time video feeds from media servers such as Resolume, video playback systems and live cameras, mapping the incoming visuals directly onto individually controlled Apollo lights.

At the Hainan Provincial Games opening ceremony, this capability powered 10,000 Apollo lights as a main visual display throughout almost the entire performance, presenting complex video imagery across the audience seating. This marked our first major event in China to use Live Input on this scale for almost the entire show.

The real-time workflow allowed video content to be adjusted and updated without first converting it into preloaded lighting sequences, giving the creative team greater flexibility during preparation and rehearsals.

A Rocket Launch into the Audience Seating

In one standout moment, the Apollo display worked with the floor projection to create the illusion of a rocket being “launched” from the performance floor into the audience seating. The coordinated imagery connected the two surfaces in a single visual sequence.

Rolling Waves of Light

Surging waves brought a sense of movement across the audience display. Combined with the floor projection, lighting and lasers, the sequence added depth to the stage picture and surrounded the performance with flowing imagery.

A Rainbow Keyboard

A vivid rainbow keyboard brought a colourful, playful scene to the audience display, demonstrating the versatility of the Apollo lights as a large-scale visual canvas.

By combining a large-scale Apollo display with flexible live video input, Enjoy Tech helped connect the stage and audience in one shared visual experience at the Hainan Provincial Games opening ceremony.
